The First International Congress on Overcoming Apartheid in Sciences
"The First International Congress on Overcoming Scientific Apartheid"
Sharing information and international cooperation in the field of science and technology are key to mastering the challenges that the modern world is facing nowadays. The US and EU sanctions on a number of countries have been designed in a manner that have had adverse effects on these countries scientific development. These sanctions, which are examples of apartheid, can lead to disturbances on the path to justice and peace, which is the preface to global security.
The word "Scientific Apartheid" is one of the most appropriate words to explain the concept of this type of discrimination, which can eventually lead to the deprivation of a part of the international community of its scientific and educational rights. Today, one of the key dimensions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Document is based on the necessity of applying science, technology and innovation in order to grow and advance in all aspects. This is while, independent countries have faced many challenges in the field of enhancing scientific and technological capabilities as arrogant countries have discriminated the dissemination of science and technology in these countries. It is worth mentioning that, UNESCO in 2001 named November the 10th "World Science Day for Peace and Development".
To counter this action and in line with UNESCO's words, and in order to build international consensus and use the scientific capacities of aligned countries, holding a congress entitled "The First International Congress on Overcoming Scientific Apartheid" is on the agenda of the Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences with the cooperation of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and the universities throughout the country.
Hereby, all professors, students, researchers, and artists from all around the world are invited to participate in this congress in order to provide a context for mutual thinking, exchanging ideas and achieving the best experiences to draw and present policies and strategies for confronting scientific apartheid.
